Originally built around the 1700’s, this historic manor house was once a family home standing in East Sussex. When its owner fell in love with a Falmouth sea captain, unable to tear herself away from either the home or her lover, in 1919 she moved the entire house to its present site on the waterfront at Flushing. With estuary views grace from all but a couple of the rooms, this spectacular manor is perfect for a house party location.

    Inside

    • Style: Still bearing many of its original features – beamed ceilings, heavy oak doors and Tudor character – the house has been refurbished and extended to create a flawless fusion of traditional and contemporary styles.
    • Bedrooms: 4 doubles, 1 twin, and one room with bunk beds. Downstairs there is one twin bedroom and wet room. Upstairs the master bedroom has a private dressing room, sitting area and en suite with Jacuzzi bath. A bathroom and separate shower room are assigned to the two stylish double and a fourth bedroom is separately arranged with its own bathroom allowing total privacy. Up another staircase is a third floor ideal for children, with one twin room, a bunkroom and single bed.
    • For relaxation: Kick back by the fireside in the living room, indulge in banquets in the dining room, or relax with one of the well-thumbed novels in the study – in daylight all three are flooded with light and glistening sea views.
    • For recreation: Outdoor pool and croquet lawn
    • Practicalities: Wet room and utility room; housekeeping services available (at an extra cost).

    Outside

Beautifully landscaped terraced lawns and a fountain garden tier to the edge of the estuary. The terrace has plenty of space for eating and drinking al fresco with the BBQ, and the garden hides lush treasures around every corner. Play croquet on the lawn, lose yourself in the gunnera plantation, amble in the orchard or the water garden, relax in the thatched summerhouse or bathe by the outdoor pool.
